Today was Josie's first day back at school. She was excited last night but very nervous by this morning. When we arrived, we talked to the nurse and the principal, Ms. Dillow. Both were so reassuring to both Josie and me. Ms. Dillow put me at ease and let me know that the school was ready to do whatever necessary to get her through the school year. We are so fortunate to be at Dawson-Bryant Elementary! Her teacher, Mrs. Blair, was so surprised to see her, as were her class mates. Josie was really shy when she entered the classroom but it was sweet to see how well she was received by all the children. Mrs. Blair is so sweet and has even let Josie call home to talk to me since she was so anxious about staying there all day. She had a great day but is really tired. Mrs. Blair said Josie did well today but was nervous about recess and seemed to tire a bit at the end of the day.
This was a big hurdle for Josie and I am so thankful to have such a supportive school faculty. I don't know what we would do without their help! We have been blessed!
Bless my sweet Josie! I'm so glad she had a great day! She is such a strong and loveable little girl. I love you Josie!

Britt! Sorry I'm a little show to hear about what's going on, despite us being Facebook friends :( So sorry that you all have to go through this but I believe it will definitely strengthen your family. Our prayers are definitely with little Josie and Alyssa (my 5-year-old) said she will include her in her evening prayers. Alyssa loves doing art so maybe you could send me on FB your address and she can send Josie some pictures :) ---Phoebe Ratliff
ReplyDeleteI second, third, and fourth those comments Ginger, Charlene, and Melanie! Thank you all for your love and support. Thank you also Nicole and for your daughter, Alyssa, who said she will pray for Josie and family. Yes, it is great to see a supportive school in this situation. I was so happy to hear my girl being able to go back to school and socialize with her peers. I think she needed that more than anything. When I talked to her tonight, she said that she was ready for school tomorrow. Josie is such a trooper and, like you said Melanie, is so brave! I couldn't agree more for my beautiful daughter. God bless you all for your continued love and support!
